I had been putting up with the reports of snotty behavior, crappy service, and the general we-are-too-hip-for-this attitude. Apparently, the business model is to be so rotten to customers that they feel a familiarity to their family and work environments. Niceness scares some people. So, I guess Beulahland should remain a safe haven for socio-paths without us or our business. I am sorry for the owners because I appreciated the opportunity and I thought it would be a good fit. The staff fucking hated us! It was amazing! Anyway, it looks like we will be at Desert Noir in Beaverton with Bill Wagner July 1st. The Location is at the Cedar Hills Mall 3205 SW Cedar Hills Blvd Beaverton, OR 97005 Phone: (503) 626-8787. Pretty sure, but if there is a change I will post it on the website.

First Year Anniversary Party RoseDrop Media Circus 1st Anniversary Party It was September 11, 2005 when Aaron and I recorded our first RoseDrop Media Circus Podcast. So, When we record the show Sept 10, 2006, we’re gonna throw a party! To all our honored performers, please come, let us give you something to eat or drink, enjoy yourself, and if you hanker to play something, we’ll be playing and recording longer than usual. We will be burning CDs of shows for anyone that asks as much as we can. How about that friend of yours that has not heard your show because they cannot download it? Hopefully they have a CD player that will play MP3s. Black Sedan is the featured act of the evening playing electric sets of Mark Lynch songs. Along with Mike Zitzer, Dan and Aaron will be playing for this show. We will have a full rhythm section. Let’s jam! With any luck, we will have the new computer and may be able to show a bit of newer technology than podcasting. Hopefully, you will see something amazing. Look for future emails about the party that may give more info on how someone might listen to the RoseDrop Media Circus live coming soon. As usual, we will be happy to talk to anyone about podcasting, digital recording, and new media. Let’s PAAAAR-TA!!!

Frankly, I am inclined at this time to book anyone without passing judgment on a CD. I have not gotten to point where I think I should “audition? guests. I would prefer to think that I am just providing an opportunity for a variety of artists to make their art available to a wider audience. There will come a time when there are more people trying to get on the show than we have slots. I expect I will have to be more selective then, but I hope I do not set myself up as a judge between competing performers. I choose to present material that might be more challenging for some and I want to take chances. I intend to respect my audience to come to their own conclusions in full knowledge that there may be shows they like and those they don’t. Feedback welcome. I am trying to recruit artists who’s work I respect, but I do not need to be like a club booker that is dependent on trying to decide who will be the more profitable act to book. I am pursuing sponsorship, grants, or commercials to get some income to support the effort, but I do not want to become some kind of new radio station clone, hit repeater, or American Idol bullshit anti-art money machine. That may be a bit highhanded, but that is how I think this new media should be used and there is an audience for this point of view. Thanks. I had been thinking about this and had not really put it into words yet. Please excuse the rant, unless you have something to add.

Flower, Aaron and I are going to do another retrospective. Flower's moving back home out of state. We will miss her and want to give her a good sendoff. This time I think we'll ask a few of the performers that have been on the show come back to the Rose and Raindrop and we'll play some of the live recordings and get some comments on the experience. Who would like to be there?

I re-reposted The Bo and Paul Parker show. I am pretty sure I have the repaired show up now. My apologies to those who were put off by the off timing on the live tunes. Please re-download. It make a difference.

Beltaine came in last week and put a dreamy peaceful look on my wife Sara's face. Hammer dulcimers are amazing instruments. Okay. I put the most recently posted shows at the top of the shows category. I have Lew Jones Part 2 mixed. It's ready to post and then we start work on the Juliet Wyers show. This will one really blew us away. Next Sunday (4/2) we have Jay Russo and his partner. This is folk music as I learned it. Songs of labor rights, freedom, and peace. These are the higher values of the majority of our neighbors. The following Sunday is Speed Limit. Get ready for some high desert lyrics. Here's the deal. I post blogs and you comment. I'd settle for some random insults.

I went back and made some corrections in the live tunes on the RMC for 02.19.06 and think it the tracks sinc better. The old file is deleted and should be unavailable. Please download the corrected file. Let me know if this worked.
